Cumberland Honey is a four-piece band from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. They write and play original folk and soul songs with some bluegrass mixed in, and all four of them sing harmony.

Steph Landis plays upright bass, Grace Mahar plays resonator guitar, Gena Lanette plays slide guitar, pedal steel, Irish bouzouki and mandolin, and Llewyn Malick plays harmonica. Jeff Oshetski of Willie Jack and the Northern Light said a Cumberland Honey show can feel “like you’re floating down a river in the 1920s.”

The band put out the Stand Up EP in 2019. Their first full-length album, Sweet Talk, came out in June 2026 with a release show at The Abbey Bar in Harrisburg. It includes “Mornin’ Light,” “River,” “Soul to Call Home” and “Hurt This Much.”

They played DelFest for the first time in 2025, at the Bloody Mary Bluegrass Brunch. In 2026 they opened for Sam Bush at XL Live in Harrisburg and played The Getdown (Cabinet’s 20th-anniversary festival) and Pine Ridge Music Festival. They’ve performed live on WITF and on ABC27’s Good Day PA, and the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame has nominated them every year from 2021 to 2025.

Soaring harmonies, exquisitely crafted songwriting wrapped into a heartfelt, old-timey sound with superb musicianship is what comes to mind when listening to Cumberland Honey. Live performances bring a smile and a sway. Their onstage energy and subtle humor is hard to find in contemporary performances. You may find yourself feeling the same heartache or joy, or like you're floating down a river in the 1920s. Highly recommended — 100% real music.
